The change of seasons always brings fresh energy and autumn is the perfect time to reset not only our routines but also our wardrobes.
Let’s embrace this season with my key pieces to start the season in style:
To me it’s all about layers, textures, and finding those essential pieces that carry us seamlessly from the lingering warmth of late September into the chill of winter.
Let’s start with:
1. The Blazer as a transitional jacket
The blazer is the perfect piece to bridge seasons. Worn over a lightweight knit or even with a t-shirt and jeans, it offers instant polish and warmth without feeling heavy. (My favorite transitional jacket by far.)
2. Knitwear
A well-chosen sweater becomes your best friend in the cooler months. Think relaxed crewnecks layered under a coat, chunky turtlenecks with slim trousers, or fine-gauge knits that tuck easily into skirts (or worn under an oversized Shirt with some jeans). Texture but also quality is key, so favour natural blends, like merino wool, cashemire, etc…
3. The power of layering
Autumn is all about layering, so start with a basic tee, add a cardi, slip on a blazer, and finish with a scarf. This not only keeps you comfortable through fluctuating temperatures but also adds depth and visual interest to your outfit.
4. Leather shoes
From sleek ankle boots to knee-highs, fall footwear sets the tone. And before it get’s really chilly, pop on some loafers or mocassins with cropped pants.
