Which season makes you feel more at ease with your wardrobe?
Some people love autumn and winter for the layering, warm tones, and cozy textures, I’m certainly one of them. I always look forward to pulling out lovely sweaters, a great coat and some boots once the summer heat fades.
But summer styling can be just as much fun! That said, I know many of my clients find dressing for summer a bit more challenging. With lighter fabrics, new colour pallets, bolder pattern and more skin on show, it can feel a little daunting.
The good news? Summer fashion has evolved beyond just „too short”, “too long” or „too wide” cuts. One of my personal favourites is the rise of linen and linen blends. These breathable, natural fibres have taken over the high street in recent years and for good reason. Linen is a more sustainable option that’s both stylish, practical and robust.
Yes, it wrinkles, but that’s part of its charm. I always remind clients: linen will crease, and that’s perfectly fine. So don’t stress about the ironing…once we all accept a little bit of crinkle, it’s all good!
What I especially love is how linen now comes in so many great pieces: wide-leg trousers, blazers, shirts, tops, even T-shirts. It feels light and airy in the heat and pairs beautifully with denim or jerseys or summer patterns. Best of all, it suits all body types and looks effortlessly elegant. Perfect for your work summer wardrobe.
Of course, linen is just one part of the picture. With the right cuts, colours, prints and textures, summer fashion can be just as versatile and flattering as any other season. You might even find your perfect summer capsule wardrobe and feel good in it without counting the days until autumn.
Remember, keep it simple, choosing pieces that flatter your body shape, nice colour combinations, but most importantly timeless pieces for a long lasting wardrobe.
I have put together a little pinterest moodboard for linen outfits to get you inspired!
